Gravity Vase
“Gravity Vase” is the 303 Studio’s result from experimentation with ceramics at the Majolika ateliers in Karlsruhe. The 303 Studio is a young, multinational, multidisci- plinary design collective. The spontaneous shape is the imprint of the invisible force that dominates earth: Gravity. Under the creative lead of Kim André Lange, each piece is uniquely handcrafted and then “exposed to gravity” (dropped) from one meter onto a solid surface. The process of creating and destroying is thus reversed: Taking advantage of the brute force of gravity and the creative power of nature, the resulting pieces assume a distinctive character and structure. The invisible forces of nature manifest in an object. In a time, in which humanity seems to have extended his domain over nature, Gravity Vase reveals the hidden beauty of nature's power, creating subtle, organic shapes and reminding us of how fragile we are.
Looking at these objects we ask:"is nature not the creator of the most beautiful things?"
Dimensions: 9x18x9cm
Material: ceramic
